CDM Smith Donates $100K to Charity via Employee Wellness Program
BOSTON—Participants in CDM Smith’s employee wellness program made four donations possible as part of the firm’s award-winning wellness program. CDM Smith gave $50,000 to Feeding America, $25,000 to National Math + Science Initiative, $15,000 to the CDM Smith Nepal Book Drive and $10,000 to the MISS Foundation.
CDM Smith’s wellness program rewards employees, spouses and partners for healthy behaviors and accomplishments with the overall goal of a healthier, more productive, happy and focused workforce. Employees earn wellness points by participating in activities like team challenges, races and exercise classes, and by tracking behaviors that contribute to their overall wellbeing. Once participants reach a threshold of points, the firm converts their points to dollars to donate to charity. Charities are chosen by CDM Smith’s Executive Leadership Team and by employee vote. Here’s how our latest donations are making an impact in the lives of others…
Feeding America
Feeding America is a non-profit organization that leads the fight against hunger in the U.S. Their mission is to advance change in America by ensuring equitable access to nutritious food for all in partnership with food banks, policymakers, supporters and the communities they serve. CDM Smith’s $50,000 donation will allow Feeding America to serve half a million meals to people in need! Play the video to learn more about Feeding America’s impact.
National Math + Science Initiative
The National Math + Science Initiative (NMSI) strives to advance STEM education to ensure all students, especially those furthest from opportunity, thrive and reach their highest potential. CDM Smith’s $25,000 donation will help NMSI empower more students to become lifelong learners and problem solvers. Press play to hear why this mission is important to NMSI CEO Dr. Bernard Harris, Jr.
CDM Smith's Nepal Book Drive
CDM Smith’s Executive Leadership Team dedicated part of their wellness donations to the employee-driven Nepal Book Drive. Their $15,000 contribution helped employees reach their $30,000 goal to provide 7,000 books and 63 tablet computers for students at 12 schools in Nepal. CDM Smith helped rebuild the schools after the devastating 2015 earthquake in Nepal as part of USAID’s Nepal Reconstruction Engineering Services project. MISS Foundation
The MISS Foundation is an international 501(c)3, volunteer-based organization providing C.A.R.E. (counseling, advocacy, research and education) services to families experiencing the death of a child.
