The firm donated another $50,000 as a result of employee participation in activities that promote the importance of both physical and mental well-being. Contributions were made to The Jason Foundation, The Relatives and Urban Sustainability Solutions.

BOSTON – Participants in CDM Smith’s Employee Wellness Program made three donations possible as part of the firm’s award-winning Wellness Program. CDM Smith gave $25,000 to The Jason Foundation, $12,500 to The Relatives and $12,500 to Urban Sustainability Solutions.

Here's how the donations are making an impact…

The Jason Foundation

The Jason Foundation, Inc. (JFI) is dedicated to the prevention of youth suicide through educational and awareness programs to help identify and assist at-risk youth. The organization’s goal is to establish a “Triangle of Prevention” for students, parents and teachers through a curriculum unit for students and informational seminars for parents and teachers focused on recognizing when young people are in pain and seeking professional help. CDM Smith employees’ contribution of $25,000 will allow JFI to continue providing its lifesaving resources at no cost.

The Relatives

The Relatives mission is to keep kids safe, help families stay together and prepare youth to be healthy, productive and engaged members of their community. The organization aims to be a “relative” to vulnerable youth and young adults by enabling them to achieve independence through comprehensive services tailored to their individualized needs, in a space where they feel loved, supported and accepted as their authentic selves. CDM Smith’s $12,500 donation will help provide a better future for kids in crisis.

Urban Sustainability Solutions, Inc. involves local youth and teachers in sustainability projects that improve air and water quality for low-income households. Its mission is to provide an urban ecosystem services program that educates and trains youth about important environmental issues while improving water and indoor air quality by instituting multifunctional green infrastructure practices. CDM Smith’s contribution of $12,500 will support the expansion of their apprenticeship program.

CDM Smith’s Wellness Program rewards employees and their dependents for healthy behaviors and accomplishments with the overall goal of a healthier, more productive, happy and focused workforce. Participants earn wellness points by tracking behaviors, activities and programs that contribute to their overall physical and mental wellbeing. Once a threshold of points is reached each quarter, the firm converts the points to dollars to donate to charities chosen by CDM Smith’s Executive Leadership Team and by employee vote. Since the Wellness Program’s start in 2017, employee participation has resulted in over $1 million in charitable donations.
