Due to the passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), additional funds are available for water and wastewater infrastructure projects from 2022 to 2026. We will give a breakdown of the funds allotted by program, discuss specific targets areas for the funding including requirements for principal forgiveness, funding lead service line replacement and emerging contaminants, and how we expect the Build America, Buy America (BABA) requirements to impact the program funds. While the focus of our discussion will be BIL, we will also give an overview of the American Rescue Plan Act potential water funds and the 2022 budget appropriation related to water projects.
