Membrane Bioreactor Expert Anthony Zamarro Joins CDM Smith
BOSTON—CDM Smith is excited to welcome Anthony Zamarro, our newest principal and discipline leader for membrane bioreactors (MBR). He joins the firm with over two decades of expertise in membrane technologies and treatment systems.
In his role at CDM Smith, Anthony will engage in projects that involve potable reuse, municipal reclamation and industrial reuse. He will play a critical role in the firm’s growing practice for water reuse and desalination. Zamarro’s extensive membrane experience spans from design to system startup to value engineering and process troubleshooting.
Prior to CDM Smith, Zamarro led the technical design for an advanced MBR system at the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California’s Pure Water Demonstration Plant, a groundbreaking effort to demonstrate the ability of MBR technology to remove of pathogens from incoming wastewater. He also was integral part of the team for the 24-mgd maximum month flow Bee Ridge Wastewater Treatment Facility MBR project in Sarasota, Florida, which will be the largest MBR plant in the state. “I find meaning in working in the environmental field, where the result of my labor is a cleaner environment and more abundant water resources,” he says.
