Marq Redeker
Marq is a Civil Engineer, specialised in water management and hydraulic engineering, with 27+ years international work experience in river basin management and consultancy for public and private clients. His special interests include fish passage, river restoration, river engineering and flood risk management. In 2003 Marq completed a post-graduate MBA-level degree in Business Engineering with a thesis on an economic analysis according to the EU Water Framework Directive.
Marq's responsibilities include development and expansion of CDM Smith’s national and international water business and services portfolio, implementation of strategic concepts, and provision of technical expertise and peer reviews.
In Doesburg in the Netherlands, he designed the country's highest fish pass and supervised its construction. For the lower River Shannon he developed a program to ecologically upgrade the country's largest hydropower scheme, Ardnacrusha, for the Irish Department of Housing, Planning and Government. Currently he is advising various clients on how to restore up- and downstream fish passage at large hydraulic structures, such as the Iron Gate dams (Serbia/Romania) and the Afsluitdijk (Ijsselmeer/Wadden Sea in the Netherlands).
His clients value him for his extensive expertise in water management and hydraulics, as well as for his reliability and trustworthy nature. Combined with CDM Smith's multidisciplinary expertise, this gives his clients the confidence that their projects are in the best hands—from initial planning to successful implementation.
