CDM Smith Donates to STEM for Her and the National Kidney Donation Organization Through Employee Wellness Program

BOSTON—Participants in CDM Smith’s employee wellness program made $50,000 in charitable donations possible as part of the firm’s award-winning Wellness Program. CDM Smith gave $25,000 each to STEM for Her and the National Kidney Donation Organization.

“We’re proud to support these organizations that align with our core values through missions that support girls and young women in STEM and advocate for living kidney donors,” said Carlos Echalar, CDM Smith Chief Human Resources Officer.

Here’s how the donations are making an impact…

The STEM for Her mission is to promote education to create awareness, excitement, and opportunities among girls and young women to launch successful STEM-related careers. Through direct exposure to hands-on experiences, mentors and role models, and other programs, STEM for Her enables girls and young women to envision the path to an education and a career in STEM. CDM Smith employees’ contribution of $25,000 will benefit a new program, STEM for Her Day, that will serve hundreds of girls with experiential learning in a conference style event.

As an advocate for prospective living kidney donors, the National Kidney Donation Organization provides education on safe and effective donation. The organization aims to increase the number of living kidney transplants in the USA. CDM Smith’s $25,000 donation will help fund the production of a documentary about kidney donation, Crowdsource for Life, that is projected to lead to 1,000 incremental donors.
