Matthew Barham
Matthew is an environmental consultant at CDM Smith, where he leverages his extensive experience in environmental science and engineering to drive impactful projects. Matthew holds a double degree in Environmental Science and Environmental Engineering, with majors in Hydrogeology and Environmental Chemistry, in which he graduated with first-class Honors. His career highlights include key roles in the remediation of the Argyle Diamond Mine for Rio Tinto, contributing to the Department of Defense's PFAS management program, and working to secure safe drinking water for remote Indigenous communities in Western Australia.
Matthew's expertise spans a broad range of environmental tasks, including fieldwork, data analysis, report writing, and junior project management, with a particular focus on monitoring programs and site investigations. He has successfully coordinated multiple field events, managed subcontractors, and overseen activities such as groundwater monitoring, drilling operations, and remedial excavations.
