PHOENIX — Nicolle Wilkinson, CCM, RA has joined CDM Smith as a principal and senior architect. She joins the firm with 30 years of experience and expertise in alternative contract delivery and capital improvement programs. In her new position, Wilkinson will play a key role in supporting the firm’s facilities-based work.

Wilkinson specializes in the planning and management of $100 million+ capital improvement programs. In her career, Wilkinson has managed over $2 billion in construction projects using both traditional and alternative delivery methods for federal, state, and local government agencies. She is inspired by the challenge of large and complicated programs. “The great thing about being in construction is having a tangible creation at the end—something that improves people’s quality of life daily,” said Wilkinson.

One of her proudest projects is the Calexico West Land Port of Entry Phase 2A, a $184 million, five-year construction program on the US-Mexico border, where she led the on-site construction management team as a senior project manager. Her oversight of major projects also includes the Yuma Regional Medical Center Expansion in Arizona. As the senior manager for this project, Wilkinson supervised the design and construction management of $200 million capital improvements over four years, which included a new emergency department, cancer center, and parking garage for the medical center.

“We are thrilled to welcome Nicolle to our team! Her wealth of experience and enthusiasm will be instrumental in driving facilities growth in the Western United States,” says Clarice Sollog, CDM Smith principal and architect. “Nicolle's commitment to excellence in services will bring immense value to our clients and elevate our architectural team to new heights.”

Wilkinson has her bachelor’s in architecture from the University of Kentucky, is a registered architect in the state of Arizona, and is a certified construction manager. She is also an active member in the San Diego Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC).

CDM Smith is a privately owned engineering and construction firm providing legendary client service and smart solutions in water, environment, transportation, energy, and facilities. Passionate about our work and invested in each other, we are inspired to think and driven to solve the world’s environmental and infrastructure challenges.
