David G. Polcari Honored with American Water Works Association 2023 John Lechner Award of Excellence

MANCHESTER, N.H. – CDM Smith is proud to announce that David G. Polcari, P.E., Senior Vice President and Senior Project Manager, has received the 2023 John Lechner Award of Excellence from the American Water Works Association (AWWA). This award, created by AWWA’s Manu­fac­tur­ers/Associates Council (MAC), recognizes profes­sion­als who have demon­strated exemplary service to the water community and AWWA’s mission and goals.  

In his 35-year career with CDM Smith, Polcari has managed planning, design and construc­tion projects for public water, wastewater and storm water utilities. His work specializes in conveyance, condition assessment and regulatory compliance. His strategic work is also focused on collab­o­ra­tion and helping solve our clients’ most pressing needs. 

While new water challenges arise each day, Polcari’s leadership and dedication to water only grows with the support from his teammates. He has been an active volunteer and mentor in the Association and New England Section for almost 25 years serving in many roles including on the Board of Directors for both AWWA and NEWWA, President of NEWWA and Chair of the Section MAC. “I am honored to receive the John Lechner Award of Excellence,” stated Polcari. “Being an active volunteer has been an important and fun part of my career, especially networking and helping to coordinate events to engage members. I am grateful to the mentors that have guided me and the many friends that I have made through the Association and New England Section.”
