Corrosion Control Expert Rich Giani Joins CDM Smith
ATLANTA –CDM Smith is pleased to welcome Rich Giani, who joins the firm as an associate and a drinking water corrosion control and water quality discipline leader. His expertise enhances CDM Smith’s ability to help our clients address water treatment and distribution optimization.
Giani joins CDM Smith with 33 years of expertise in assisting clients to optimize water treatment, achieve regulatory compliance and plan water quality and corrosion control treatment. His work has helped him make an impact for communities and utilities across North America, including during his tenure as the water quality manager for DC Water, where he led a research team in understanding the cause of the 2004 water crisis and creating a solution.
He has been recognized with the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Golden Spigot Award, has served as chair of the AWWA’s Distribution Water Quality Committee and was lead author of the AWWA’s manual on internal corrosion control in water distribution systems.
We are excited to have Rich’s industry leading expertise in water quality, treatment optimization and corrosion control to help our clients manage compliance with the revised Lead and Copper Rule.
“I’m inspired by the art of water chemistry and treatment, providing solutions for clients, protecting public health and the hands-on work that takes place at water treatment plants and distribution systems,” says Giani.
