Rick Newberg Appointed Chair of the AWWA O&M Committee
BOSTON – CDM Smith is excited to announce that Operational Specialist Rick Newberg has been recently appointed Chair of the AWWA O&M Committee. The O&M group is primarily comprised of licensed water and wastewater treatment operators who provide support for the startup and commissioning of new facilities.
Newberg joined CDM Smith in 2008 and has contributed to many international operations and maintenance support projects throughout the years. Prior to joining CDM Smith, Newberg was subcontracted with O&M to support the U.S. Navy on the Islands of Sardinia and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Currently at the O&M group, Newberg develops technical materials such as operations and maintenance manuals, trainings, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting to ensure the smooth execution of projects.
Rick’s energy and commitment to sharing and advancing knowledge in the water operations and maintenance field will greatly benefit the AWWA O&M Committee
“Being selected to be the Chair of the national AWWA O&M committee was a surprise, since I have only served on the committee for only 2 years.” said Newberg. However, with Newburg’s impressive experience in operation and maintenance support in projects all around the world, it is no surprise to others that he was appointed this position. “Rick’s energy and commitment to sharing and advancing knowledge in the water operations and maintenance field will greatly benefit the AWWA O&M Committee,” said CDM Smith Senior Operations Specialist, Georgine Grissop.
