CDM Smith Wins Third Consecutive FEMA HMTAP Contract
WASHINGTON, D.C.—CDM Smith has successfully served the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), supporting its Hazard Mitigation Technical Assistance Program (HMTAP) since 2009. FEMA recently selected CDM Smith as the sole provider for the $50 million HMTAP Sector B contract, covering FEMA Regions 1-4 (the eastern U.S.). As a subconsultant to Wood, CDM Smith is also part of the team that was awarded the HMTAP Sector A contract for FEMA Regions 8-10 (western U.S.) and the Office of Environmental and Historic Preservation.
Under the new Sector B contract, CDM Smith will continue to support FEMA's Grant Implementation Branch; Policy, Tools and Training Branch; and Grants Data and Analytics Branch. CDM Smith brings a history of excellence providing review for hundreds of grant applications for every state and territory in the U.S. and for numerous tribal governments. FEMA will continue to benefit from the firm’s expertise in technical and Environmental and Historic Preservation evaluation of Hazard Mitigation Assistance grants, post-disaster data collection and program analyses and policy/guidance development.
Senior vice president and delivery director Timothy Hillier said, “Our team has put FEMA’s mission first throughout the previous two contracts and will continue to serve the agency as a leading provider of technical assistance.”
CDM Smith’s innovative solutions and commitment to collaboration have contributed to many efficiency mechanisms that FEMA has in place today. These mechanisms have streamlined the review and approval of grant applications and introduced approaches to technical assistance that build state and local capacity. The CDM Smith team looks forward to continuing to support FEMA HQ and the Regions within Sectors A and B.
