Danielle Neamtu, PE, PMP
"I'm inspired by technically challenging projects and working with a multi-discipline team," says Danielle Neamtu, CDM Smith's geotechnical practice leader. Her 2+ decades of experience in her field spans across technical areas, including wastewater and water conveyance and treatment, dam evaluation and design, landfill design, and more.
Danielle's knowledge includes the planning and oversight of geotechnical investigations, development of design reports and contract documents, preparation of design calculations, construction oversight, and inspection/assessment of dams. As a certified project manager, she's overseen design and construction of countless projects, from steam tunnels to dam rehab efforts to water storage impoundments.
"Working with the Fayetteville Public Works Commission (PWC) to upgrade and maintain their water supply dam at Glenville Lake has been one of the highlights of my career. This critical infrastructure provides water to PWC customers, but it's also a high-hazard dam directly upstream of downtown Fayetteville," Danielle says. "We completed dam upgrades for increased spillway capacity and upstream armoring of the slope just months before Hurricane Matthew in 2016 — this hurricane resulted in significant flood damage to surrounding areas, but the Glenville Lake Dam performed as we expected."
Danielle views civil engineering as a career in service to the public, and she's motivated by the opportunity for collaboration in her field. "I really enjoy the people I work with each day. The firm's employee-focus fosters a friendly environment among co-workers and makes getting our jobs done that much easier," she says.
