Andrew J. McLean, MPP, JD
“I am passionate about working on public policy that improves the lives of people,” says Andrew McLean, transportation policy specialist at CDM Smith. “The work we do—whether that is building a bridge, a new water line, developing EV charging stations, or transforming the way we pay for our infrastructure—all help to improve our communities and the lives of the people who live in them.”
As a practicing attorney and former law clerk for the Maine Superior Court, Andrew has dedicated his work to developing public policy that improves quality of life. Andrew’s unique combination of policy experience and legal knowledge expertly positions him as a skilled transportation strategist, messenger, and mediator.
He served as a legislator in the Maine House of Representatives for eight years, and as Chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Transportation for six years. He gained a statewide reputation as a leader on transportation policy, working to build bipartisan support for proposals that increased revenue for transportation projects and new and innovative ways to reform the state’s funding model, including the development of a road usage charge program.
“Every person relies on safe and efficient infrastructure,” he says. “Whether it’s the public policy that provides the funding for the infrastructure, the engineers that design the infrastructure, or the workers who build it, CDM Smith is at the core of this work. Our company's mission is to help create a better world through the development of infrastructure and I couldn’t be more excited to help contribute to that mission.”
