CDM Smith to Design New Facilities and Infrastructure for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Europe
WIESBADEN, Germany—The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Europe District recently awarded CDM Smith a 5-year general architect-engineer (A-E) indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract with a shared capacity of $248.6 million. Under this new contract, CDM Smith will provide a range of architectural and engineering services, including designs of major new construction projects such as barracks, medical facilities, administrative buildings, vehicle maintenance facilities, storage facilities and infrastructure.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Europe District is based in Wiesbaden, Germany, and is responsible for the design of all major construction projects required by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) in most European countries. CDM Smith has a history of more than 20 years supporting the district on environmental projects. The award of this new general architecture and engineering design contract marks a significant broadening in the range of services that we will deliver to this highly valued client.

The services that CDM Smith will provide include:
- Architectural and engineering designs of new facilities and infrastructure, such as airfields, railways, fuel storage, roads, bridges and utilities
- Engineering and environmental assessments of existing facilities and infrastructure
- Master planning, design charrettes, CAD/GIS mapping and feasibility studies
- Preparation of environmental documentation and permits, geotechnical investigations, topographical surveys and construction inspection services
The contract may be used by all DoD agencies for projects in Germany, Poland, Belgium, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic.
