The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has released the 2012 Guidelines for Water Reuse, which includes information on water reuse practices and projects, spanning low-technology solutions and advanced treatment processes, and place a greater emphasis on case studies. EPA contracted with CDM Smith to develop the 2012 update.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District has selected a CDM Smith-led team to design and construct a 1.5-megawatt solar array at Tooele Army Depot in Tooele, Utah. Once complete, the solar array will offset one-third of the depot’s energy usage and reduce energy consumption from the local utility.

ESPN facilitated the makeover of athletic facilities at Roberts Playground and Dorchester Education Complex, Dorchester, Massachusetts, as part of the “RISE UP” series, which rallies local contractors and businesses to help high school athletes by upgrading athletic facilities. CDM Smith donated professional engineering and construction services for the project, serving as program manager and completing the design-build project in 6 weeks.

CH2M Hill-CDM PA TAC Recovery Services, a joint venture between CH2M HILL and CDM Smith, was recently awarded the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) public assistance technical assistance contract (PA TAC) to provide technical assistance support for FEMA disaster-related operations throughout the United States and its territories. The 5-year contract has a maximum value of $500 million.
