Powering the Winds of Change

Wind Farms Create a Source of Renewable Energy in Poland

Wind power is on the rise as a renewable energy source in Poland, with numerous investments planned and implemented in recent years. In Orla, a wind farm is planned with 15 wind turbines in a 20-square-kilometer area to provide 40 megawatts of total power.

This project marks another achievement in our record of environmental impact assessments and permitting successes for 35 newly built wind farms and more than 250 individual wind turbines for clients across Poland.

We prepared an environmental impact assessment to investigate, determine and document the impact on the environment of the proposed wind farm project and to identify potential opportunities and alternative solutions to mitigate any negative environmental impacts. We also conducted ornithology monitoring and an inventory of bats and nature inventory in the area. We applied a geographic information system to support data management and spatial analysis, and used simulation programs and models to assess the potential distribution of pollution and noise.

This work supported our client’s success in obtaining the necessary environmental permit to implement the project and harness the wind to supply energy for Orla. This project marks another achievement in our record of environmental impact assessments and permitting successes for 35 newly built wind farms and more than 250 individual wind turbines for clients across Poland.
