Sustainability from the Top
Achieving our vision requires vigorous growth, strong financial performance, and professional achievement. Fundamental to our success is a blueprint by which together we are building CDM Smith's future. That blueprint, called Building Our Global Future, is the most highly integrated of any strategy we have undertaken in the past 30 years, helping us understand and respond to our vision of global market opportunities and business challenges. Throughout our planning process and strategic plan we have committed ourselves to sustainability performance improvement in our business and culture.
We strive for sustainability improvement in every facet of our organization—clients and projects, people, operations, and community. We will fulfill this commitment by accomplishing three specific objectives. The first is to "walk the talk" with sustainability in our operations. The second is to develop and apply models for "sustainability in practice," in essence seeking ways to enhance sustainability in how we do business. And third, to advance the sustainability state-of-the-art. We must continue to be leaders, not followers, in sustainability. In adopting our own sustainability goals, we also align ourselves with our clients who often share the motivation to adopt more sustainable approaches in their respective operations.
I am extremely proud of our legacy of sustainability and even more so of what we are poised to achieve in the years ahead. Our foundation of excellence is built by the talented men and women of CDM Smith who inspire hope and foster sustainable growth. Throughout our history, our firm's greatest contributions to sustainability have been through the projects we deliver in collaboration with our clients.
