At CDM Smith, Sustainability is Second Nature
CDM Smith co-founder Thomas Camp left his professorship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to start a consulting practice dedicated to improving public health, protecting the environment, and supporting social and economic development. Even before the term sustainability entered into the lexicon of practitioners, he understood the importance of preserving our planet's delicate balance and improving our quality of life without compromising resources for future generations. These goals form CDM Smith's legacy and remain just as relevant today and for our future.
Today at CDM Smith, our commitment to sustainability is guided by the following principles:
- CDM Smith is committed to continually improving environmental value, quality of life, and economic prosperity—for the firm, our clients, and the communities in which we live and work.
- Our greatest impact on sustainability is achieved through the solutions we deliver in collaboration with our clients. Our interdisciplinary teams develop integrated, holistic approaches to provide lasting solutions and value for our clients in government, business, and industry.
- We emphasize sustainability in our own business practices by conserving resources—natural, built, energy, and human—with a goal of continual improvement and measurable return on investment.
