CDM Smith to Design-Build Upgrades at Piegan Border Patrol Station The Piegan Land Port of Entry and Border Contol Station in Montana will leverage design-build to upgrade its water, wastewater and associated facility infrastructure.

PHOENIX—CDM Smith has been awarded a $9.8 million design-build project by the General Services Administration (GSA) Denver Special Projects Division to upgrade infrastructure at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Piegan Land Port of Entry and Border Patrol Station located near Piegan, Montana.

The project includes the design and construction of new drinking water treatment and sanitary sewage treatment facilities, improvements to the water intake for the potable water system on the west bank of the Saint Mary River, streets and sidewalks, and street lighting. Work will also include all grading, drainage and underground utilities for water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, natural gas, electricity, telephone, cable television and Internet.

We are excited to apply our integrated design and construction capabilities on this critical upgrade project for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection organization.

This critical facility upgrade will ensure the land port of entry and border patrol station personnel and visitors have an adequate drinking water supply, an environmentally sound wastewater treatment facility, and improved reliability for associated site work, including roads, sidewalks and lighting, to enable the accomplishment of the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol mission at this location.

“CDM Smith is committed to designing and constructing modern, efficient and maintenance friendly water, wastewater and facility infrastructure,” states Jay Manik, CDM Smith client service leader. “We are excited to apply our integrated design and construction capabilities on this critical upgrade project for the GSA and U.S. Customs and Border Protection organization."
