Miami-Dade Expressway Authority Awards Traffic and Revenue Consulting Contract to CDM Smith
MIAMI—CDM Smith is proud to announce that the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority (MDX), which operates and maintains five all-electronic toll roads in Florida, has awarded CDM Smith a traffic and revenue consulting contract for $2.5 million over 5 years. CDM Smith will provide data collection and analysis, traffic and revenue forecasting, revenue review and analysis, impact analysis, alternative toll rate structures evaluation, cost analysis, trust indenture compliance, annual reporting and project planning to MDX as assigned.
Like most of America’s transportation agencies, MDX faces many strategic challenges related to congestion and capacity in the coming years. The recent expansion of the Panama Canal will drive additional goods through the Port of Miami. This increased freight movement requires first-in-class planning to prevent adverse traffic affects. Finding innovative ways to help MDX counteract congestion as capacity expansion becomes increasingly difficult is a top priority for CDM Smith. Our team will help the authority adapt to and consider other emerging industry trends, including autonomous vehicle technology, ridesharing and environmental responsibility.
