CDM Smith Announces Senior Management Promotions

CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts—CDM Smith is pleased to announce the following senior management promotions:

Kelli Burn-Roy has been named group president of CDM Smith’s Public Services North America West/Central Group. Kelli brings more than 30 years of experience in planning, design, construction and operation of capital programs. For the past 3 years, she has led the firm’s energy and transportation strategic initiatives, as well as the development of the Transportation Division. She has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Michigan.

Martin Gaus has been named group president of the firm’s Europe, Middle East and Africa Services Group. He will lead a staff of more than 800 employees in 11 countries, delivering solutions for clients throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and providing specialized technical assistance to international development assistance programs worldwide. He is a civil engineer with 28 years of experience in transportation, environmental planning, remediation, and program and construction management. Martin earned a degree (Dipl.-Bauingenieur) in civil engineering from Stuttgart University.

Don Munksgaard has been named group president of the firm’s newly established Asia Pacific Services Group. Don will lead business efforts throughout Asia, focusing on continued success in Vietnam, India, Hong Kong and Singapore—home of the firm’s Neysadurai Centre for Integrated Water Resources and Urban Planning—and new growth with the recent acquisition of E3 Consult in Australia. In addition to a strong background in management and operations, he has more than 35 years of experience in the planning and design of municipal water, wastewater, solid waste and stormwater programs. He received master’s degrees in business administration from Florida Atlantic University sanitary engineering from Iowa State University and a bachelor’s in civil engineering from Iowa State University.

Darwin Nelson has been named group president of the firm’s Federal Services Group. Darwin will be responsible for the overall operations, business development activities and strategic efforts involving our federal clients. He has more than 20 years of federal contract management experience, implementing environmental investigations and water resources design and construction projects at locations throughout the United States and Europe. Darwin has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Arizona State University.
