CDM Smith Community Service

Twice a year, our employees and their families volunteer to clean up a 2-mile stretch of Crabtree Creek, which CDM Smith has adopted as a part of the Adopt-a-Stream program in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Working with 25 school committees in Kashmir, Pakistan, CDM Smith volunteers organized a first-ever book festival that raised more than a million rupees, enough buy several hundred books for each school library. The 2-day festival also brought families together for games and entertainment, with more than 1,000 at the closing show.
We took local 6th graders on a site tour of a wastewater treatment plant in Bekaa, Lebanon, to help bring their science studies to life with real-world experience and inspire their interest in becoming engineers. Students learned how wastewater can be cleansed for agricultural and urban reuse in their arid climate.
At the Cambridge Science Festival in Massachusetts, our volunteers created and staffed an interactive exhibit that engaged families in learning “Whaddaya Know About Your H2O?” and a “Taste and See” booth. CDM Smith is a major sponsor of the annual, week-long community festival.
Carlsbad and San Diego employees combined to support the North County Food Bank of San Diego, California. The volunteers raised enough to donate 3,000+ pounds of food.
