Our philosophy is that professional growth never stops. Here at CDM Smith, professional development means both the opportunity to work on some of the world’s most challenging projects and access to programs designed to encourage continuous learning. No matter where you are in your career, you will find projects, people, and resources to help you go further.
We encourage our employees to remain active in their development in a variety of ways:
Supported by an environment of mentoring and learning, our employees live to a very high standard: to be the very best and brightest individuals in their chosen field. We are committed to the career development of each employee, and our ability to hire, advance, and retain the best people in the industry relies on meaningful career paths for all members of the team. Through specifically designed career paths, we provide the opportunities, advancement measures, and resources employees need to develop.
CDM Smith University
Whether providing continuing education requirements to maintain professional licenses and registrations or teaching a new skill set to enhance an employee's advancements, CDM Smith University helps its students grow professionally and personally. Our corporate training program provides training and continuing education opportunities that further our business goals and staff career development. For managers mentoring staff, CDM Smith University offers tools and opportunities to boost skills and cultivate talents. Fully accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training to issue continuing education units and professional development hours, CDM Smith University is an important and convenient resource available to our entire team.
We are committed to supporting professional registrations and certifications, and have several policies and programs in place to help achieve them. Currently, we employ more American Academy of Environmental Engineering Diplomates than any other consulting firm.
In addition, CDM Smith University courses play a key role in supporting professional registration. For example, many states have continuing education requirements for maintaining professional engineer state licenses. CDM Smith University has and will continue to pursue approved-provider status in states that adopt these requirements so that our courses count toward fulfilling continuing education license renewal requirements.
